Africa Centre For Open Governance, AFRICOG says that 62 percent of the funds released by World bank and other donors for the arid land resource management projects, was misappropriated. Speaking during the release of the audit report , AFRICOG executive director Gladwell OtIeno said that misappropriation of funds has become a norm to leaders when dealing with donor funds, a culture she say must cease.
